Oak Ridge Jeep Jamboree

What a great way to start a new year of fourwheeling...come to the FIRST Jamboree of 2008...the Oak Ridge Jeep Jamboree. If you haven't been to Oak Ridge in a while, come see what we've done. We added some great new trails last year and now our trail system is 42 miles in length. I wonder what kind of weather we'll have the beginning of March? When Jeep Jamboree says "...Rain can increase ratings on all trails by one or two points...", they aren't kidding at Oak Ridge.

Look forward to seeing you there,

Tool Kit suggestion

Good Morning.
We're all excited about this event as it's our first one in our 2007 Jeep Commander Limited. I got everything ready I could. Skid Plates, tow hooks etc.
The Documentation sent out talks about getting a tool kit. Now I could go nuts here with all the tools I have.
What kind of tools do you suggest?? Screwdrivers, pliers, etc etc... What's the minimum???
I'm going to order those 20 ft Keeper Recovery Straps listed on the web site. Do I need longer?? Do I need more than one??? How about the tree strap.. do I need to buy that??
Thank You
Rich

Tool Kit

Hi Rich,
I'm not sure where you are traveling from, but I would pack a tool kit with things that might help you in your travels to Oak Ridge...screw drivers, hammer, wrenches, etc. Stuff that you would use to say, change your fan belt should it break on the way. Once we are on the trails, I will guarantee no matter how many tools you pack, you will not have the one you need. But someone else will. That's the beauty of travelling with other Jeepers on a Jeep Jamboree. Plus our guides have been know to carry a tool or two. (You will be in good hands).

A 20' strap will be fine. One will do.
Does your vehicle have a tow hook on the back, or a 2" reciever hitch? If you have a hitch, make sure you bring the pin that fits in the hole on the side for the hitch.

The tree saver strap is used if your vehicle has a winch.

Does your Commander have side steps or running boards? We may look at removing them temporarily for the trails, in order to gain more ground clearance. We can talk about it at the sign up and tech inspection.

Do you have any other questions?

Thanks,
Chris
